Sneaky Sundays
Last Sunday, I met a dear friend of mine downtown. After having looked for a parking place for 40 (please note, forty) minutes, I finally found one at a short distance from the very heart of Rome: piazza di Spagna.
I had rushed out without having had breakfast, so we stopped at Gusto al 28 (I love their croissants), and then sneaked at the flea market, which takes place every Sunday under piazza Augusto Imperatore's arcades.
How could we avoid a shopping tour in the famous Via Condotti?
All major Italian and international fashion stylists have their shop here. Gucci, Dior, Prada, Stuart Weitzman, Tod's and also Hermes, Valentino, Burberry...
...and the Church of Trinita' dei Monti looks fabulous in springtime, when colorful flowers adobe its worldwide known Scalinata, and Bernini's fountain, la Barcaccia.
But I was more in a shopping mood than in an artistic one, so I could not avoid taking a look (and a pic) at Jimmy Choo's...
Fantastic sandals.
But prohibitive prices!
995 euros for the high heeled ones!
I left my heart at its window glasses...
...but took a picture for the records! :)
A new Casadei shop has opened in the square. Usually, I like their shoes but these do not exactly match my taste. Too colorful. And too high. I will never understand how a woman can walk from that height... but probably, when wearing them, she simply doesn't.
