Walking in Rome

As I have stated in a previous post of mine, drivers have an incredible hard time to find a parking place in Rome. Not only in specific areas, but in the whole city.
The traffic itself slows the car flux, and this unavoidable inconvenience reduces inexorably the time at one's disposal to bring his goals to an end. This is the reason why, some people park in second row. But, in case they don't want to be "bothered" by those drivers blocked by their cars, they have an excellent alternative...

...pedestrian crossings!
Actually, there are at least two good reasons for choosing this second option. First of all, streets offer plenty of space for pedestrians to cross a road. And second, pedestrians are not provided with horns, and therefore, they will never ever require a car driver to move his vehicle! How can you not agree? That's a smart solution!
And if by chance, the pedestrian is somehow handicapped, or is carrying a pram...well, a little zigzag around the cars will make his walk even more exciting!

Actually, pedestrians too are quite undisciplined. Why should they walk till the closest zebra crossing, when they can cross the street without (hopefully) being run over?

But I must admit, they are so unaccustomed to be treated respectfully, that if you stop your car to let them cross a street, in most cases they'll thank you with a hand gesture. How sweet...
