A September Sunday

September is the right moment to take a look at the shop windows, as to know what fall fashion trends will be. And Sundays are perfect to take a walk. Downtown Rome, shops open in the early afternoon and, since at that time, most romans are too busy watching television (soccer championship is played at 3 p.m.), streets are half-empty. A godsend...

So, while I was strolling in the city center to refresh my memory, I took note of two new entries. Balenciaga
is opening in Via Borgognona, right where Stella McCartney brand new shop is located.

And if you're looking for a new bag to buy, this one seems to be the teenagers' "must have" of the coming season.

In Via Condotti instead, the colored tentacles of an octopus seemed to drag you inside Louis Vuitton store,

while Hermès leather bracelet's price did exactly the opposite: keep you away from it.

And as I approached Piazza di Spagna, after having fallen in love with these military green shoes by Prada,

I remembered that it was a looooong time, I wanted to sit at Babington's, right at the bottom of the Spanish steps. And so I did.

This place is kind of magic. Once you're inside, you forget the outside world. Time seems to stop.
At the entrance, you're welcomed by a display full of jars with honey, jam, marmalade and a wide variety of different teas,

not to mention the one carrying sweets and pies! My mouth began to water,

and it stopped only after I had the last bite of this super delicious apple pie (which I obviously recommend).

Sated and satisfied, a question came to my mind: what if now good food gratifies me more than sophisticated garments? Would it mean...I am getting old ???
