About art and emotions

If you're going to visit the beautiful exhibition at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, do not miss the movie, that retraces the history of Paris through the shoots of Robert Doisneau.
As I watched it, I wondered whether I love photographs more than videos. And I still have no answer. Because if the first ones immortalize an instant and fix it in a single image, the second ones capture a sequence of movements and record a sound or a voice, which would be otherwise lost.
What I am sure of, instead, is that I have been caught by a poignant sense of time passing, while observing all the photos of "Paris en Liberté".
The thought of all those gestures and moments of life forever stopped in one click, yet forever carried away by the stroke of the following second, has been unavoidable.

Moreover, this is the goal of every form of art: arouse emotions. No doubt then, that Monsieur Doisneau has achieved it.

Once out, and in the wake of those feelings, I definitely appreciated the tranquil beauty of the small park,

located between the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and the palazzo del Quirinale, the residence of the President of the Italian Republic, where I assisted to the changing of the guard.

The Marine Corps left, while the Aviation one began its turn.

Being almost 5 p.m. and having had no lunch at all, I started to feel hungry, so I walked down the steps

and I stopped by the Trevi Fountain,

before reaching Baccano, one of my favorite spots downtown. There, I made peace with my stomach with a delicious chicken club sandwich

and I regained the energy to face the autumn, which seems to be inexorably coming...
