A sweet Saturday

Nothing is as pleasant to me as sharing moments of life with those I love. It doesn't matter what we share, it matters that we do it. So, when on Saturday my daughter asked me to take her downtown for lunch, as to have a deserved break from her huge amount of homeworks, I was more than happy to spend a few hours with her.

She was actually looking for a winter jacket, but while walking down Via Borgognona, we could not avoid entering Ladurée's newly opened shop.

The place looks as sweet as the items sold, and it goes without saying that we stepped out with some delicious macarons for our afternoon tea.

Being lunch time, I remembered having read about a newly opened restaurant, located a few steps away from our favorite patisserie, and being both two curious human beings, we agreed to try it.

Its name is Ginger, and it seems to be famous for its sandwiches and for its smoothies.

While this last was delicious, my quinoa salad with chicken and my daughter's fettuccine with culatello were so disappointing, that I would suggest you to order just sandwiches, at least until a new chef will be hired. :)

I was so unsatisfied (and still hungry), that I preferred avoiding another failure by ordering some sweets, so I had a great idea.
We walked again Via Borgognona up, we reached a sunny Piazza di Spagna and...

...we sat at Babington's, that on my opinion, is the alter ego of the parisian Angelina, in Rue de Rivoli.
The apple pie was superb, but the apple crumble I tried was not to be less.

And after all those sweets, I had enough energy to walk the whole city center up and down in search of that winter jacket, that my daughter finally found at Zadig and Voltaire two hours later...
