COMING SOON

"Il cammino di Pietro" is the title of the exhibition hosted at Castel Sant'Angelo from tomorrow until May, 1st.
Its intent is to retrace Saint Peter's life through the paintings and the sculptures, that, from the Middle Age to the nineteenth century, were dedicated to him. The purpose is to eliminate the distance that separates us from the events documented in the Gospels.
The choice of Saint Peter is obviously not accidental. The first Pope of the Christianity was indeed  a restless man, prey of doubt and uncertainty, and for this reason he embodies, more than anyone else, the idea of Faith in all its aspects. It will be therefore easy for both believers and non-believers, to identify with him and with his "journey" towards faith.
The visitors might take the chance to admire two other important paintings such as " Consegna delle chiavi" by Il Perugino and "Crocifissione di Pietro" by Il Caravaggio, kept respectively in The Sistine Chapel and in the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, located in the homonymous square.
