Writing my first post here while Rome is being covered with more and more snow!
Actually, the last time it happened was in December 2010 but it melt so quickly that most people have forgotten the episode. Everybody just remembers the huge snowfall dated 1985.
Well, I wasn't living in Rome at that time but I keep a funny memory about it.
I made an international phone call to a friend of mine at 10.30 in the morning. At that time he should have been in his office, at his desk, working, I supposed. But no one answered.
So I tried a bit later, and after a while a female voice answered panicking: "A' signori', non ci sta nessuno. A Roma nevica!!!". ("There's nobody here. It's snowing!!!").To me, used to cold and snow, it was all quite weird. But today, after so many years I have been living in Rome, I know that this is the way it goes...
Ultimately, Rome is the eternal city. If you don't make it today, you'll have plenty of time tomorrow...
