The resorts, where most Romans head to

If in July Fregene is packed of Roman families and youngsters (especially on weekends),

in August locals take at least two full weeks off from work. Funny is, that they do not take a break from each other, since all will meet again in one, or more, of the following destinations:

- Argentario (Tuscany, in the province of Grosseto)
or more specifically Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano and Capalbio
For a perfect holiday in the first two tuscan seaside resorts, it is necessary to rent a
boat to avoid the few overcrowded beaches, and enjoy the crystal clear sea of the
many bays and coves of the area.
Those, who choose Capalbio, benefit from the beautiful tuscan countryside and
from various cultural events, but they definitely need a car to reach the golden sand
  beach, being the village inland.

Sabaudia
Sabaudia itself is not so fascinating, but this defect becomes a virtue for all those, who
aspire to a relaxing holiday by its dunes. The clue? Rent a beach villa, and you'll forget
timetables, restaurant queues, crowds and even how to drive a car, since your only
means of transport will be a bicycle!

Sardegna
No matter where you go, whether in the livelier north eastern coast, or in the more
tranquil southern side of this amazing island, both beaches and sea are breathtaking...

- Capri
It was not a coincidence, that the Roman Emperor Tiberio chose this island as his
home. Capri is my favorite: charming, lively, mysterious, culturally interesting,
fashionable. Here, you can find yourself walking alone through one of its tiny streets
or shopping in a multilingual crowd, enjoying a classical music concert or dancing and
singing at "Anema e core", dining in the movida area or under a lemon tree
  overlooking the gulf of Naples.
Its marine caves are known all over the world, as well as its scenic walks. Capri is in
fact a rocky island, perfect to dive straight into deep blue crystal waters.

- Ischia
Less fashionable (and less expensive) than Capri, Ischia is the perfect place to relax,
while taking care of your body in one of its countless natural spas.
Its archaeological sites, as well as its villages and beaches, are numerous.
Personally, I prefer the southern side of this green and easy going island, where vips,
such as Angela Merkel, seek, and find, quietness and privacy.

- Cortina d'Ampezzo
And last but not least...mountains! All those Romans, who love climbing and fresh air,
head to this beautiful place in the Dolomiti Alps. Capital of the winter olympic games
in 1956, Cortina is THE destination for the rich and famous, both in summer and
winter, and a great place to experience beautiful nature, warm hospitality and
wonderful cuisine, rich of regional dishes!

And now, I can only wish you...HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!! :)
